Can my employer keep me from filing a new worker's compensation claim?

Additional Details:
In 2005 I was awarded a 13% permanent disability for problems with my feet. I was recently
transfered to another work site, with increased walking, standing and climbing of cement stairs. The
problems with my feet has returned. I have attempted tp continue with my previous claim but my
employer has changed insurers several times in the last few years and now can not locate any
paperwork. I am being told that I can not utilize my prior case, and that my employer will not
accept a new filing of a worker''s comp. claim until they find out whether the old claim in closed
or not. I am utilizing my personal insurance and sick leave (which is running out), at this time. My
employer will not make any arrangements to accomodate my disability and is stating I can not come
back to work unless there are no medical restrictions. Can you give me advice?
