Is there a payment for pain and suffering after you have healed from your injury ?

Additional Details:
I have been off work for 2 months so far and have just gone through hernia surgery. when I recover
and am released to go back to work , is there a lump sum of money for pain and suffering from
workmans comp?

In California you get paid a lump sum based on two things, first your permanent disability rating, and second if you want the insurer to buy out your future medical care.
